You can substitute a navel orange for the orange juice. You can also add a few drops of Echinacea, olive leaf extract or elderberry extract, each of which helps boost your immune system.
Ingredients
2 cups fresh spinach
¾ cup water
¾ cup orange juice
1 cup strawberries
1 cup blueberries
2 bananas
Directions Thoroughly wash the applicable fruits and vegetables.
Blend the spinach, orange juice and water until smooth. Add everything else and blend until smooth. If you want a cold smoothie, either substitute ice for the water or freeze at least one of the other ingredients. Serve.
Special Tips for Making Perfect Smoothies
Use ripe fruit. Unripe fruit isn’t very sweet, so it doesn’t do a good job of sweetening up your bitter greens. Unripe fruit is harder to digest than ripe fruit and isn’t as healthful.
