The most important meal of the day, and who am I to say? Eating a satisfying and healthy meal definitely seems like a great way to start the day, especially if it tastes great. This Crockpot Chili with beef recipes definitely qualify.
Ingredients
1 pound lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped
2 sweet peppers, any color, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
15 oz can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
15 oz can tomato sauce, unsalted or low sodium
Preferred
1/ 2 cup unsalted beef broth
3 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon cumin
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)
In a frying pan, cook ground beef, onion, pepper, and garlic until the beef is browned. Drain fat. Combine the beef mixture, kidney beans, and remaining ingredients in the crockpot. Cover and cook on high for four hours, or low for eight hours.
Makes 6-8 servings.
